Macro-economic Indicators

Business Cycle Indicator

Business Cycle Indicator is an independent, real-time indicator of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), providing an estimate of the IIP two months prior to the release of official data. Researchers who use this indicator would have an advantage over others in projecting industrial growth. The BCI rose to 8.4 during Feb’17 from 8.1 reported during Jan’17. The BCI stood at 7.6 same period previous year. The climb in the BCI was led by easing of cash crunch created by demonetization of high value currency notes.
